Raptors G.M Says !#%& Brooklyn Before Raptors-Nets Game (Video)

Okay, this is being a bit trivial and isn't something nobody's ever said about an opponent before.

But this time it's a General Manager...and unfortunately for Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, he uttered a profane statement towards the Brooklyn Nets at a pep rally in front of a fired up crowd of Raptors fans prior to the start of their 1st Round Eastern Conference NBA Game.

And yes, Ujiri used the "F-Word" a word some people use quite frequently. But not often as an executive while performing in their role as an executive.

((Side Note--We wouldn't recommend talking TOO much smack to Brooklyn-ites...just sayin'))

In the grand scheme of things, no this probably isn't a big deal, rather it just illustrates the "Be Careful What You Say" in public rule that most high profile people need to think about.

**Note** At halftime of Saturday's game, Ujiri apologized saying "You know how I feel, I don't like them, but I apologize"

BUZZER BEATER: Sixers Evan Turner Ends Philly's Losing Ways For Now In Overtime

Philadelphia 76er fans have not had a lot to cheer about this season and coming into Friday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets had lost seven games in a row.

Evan Turner put an end to that losing streak with a buzzer beating layup that you swear tried not to go in the basket.  Lady luck was on the Sixers side.

"It felt like it bounced 150 times, man. It was up there" Turner said.  "I was just thinking about my reaction if it didn’t go in and who I was going to punch, you know?"

Turner led the Sixers with 29 points and added 10 rebounds.

Philadelphia was determined to go to the basket aggressively during the game in that tactic payed off in the end with Turner's game winner.

That may also help the 76ers psychologically.

"We needed to get that win for the sanity of the group." Sixers head coach Brett Brown said.


It was an insane ending last night for Philly.

So. Can we say that possibly the most over-hyped sports story of the July 4th weekend will revolve around soon-to-be Houston Rockets center Dwight "Cry-baby" Howard?

Multiple reports say the mercurial 27-year old has decided to leave the Los Angeles Lakers and take his talents to Houston. We might mention that the Rockets have gone to great lengths this offseason to clear salary space by jettisoning multiple players and are looking to get rid of a few more players.

Howard in Houston would team with the talented James Harden, forward Chandler Parsons and a few "other guys" to give the Rockets the appearance of a "title" team.

Don't believe it.

Sure, they may compete, and really, outside Oklahoma City and maybe San Antonio and now probably the Los Angeles Clippers and possibly the Golden State Warriors, there's not a ton of teams who can compete for an NBA title. (Okay, so I named 4-others)

No, we aren't fans of Howard, whom we know from his days as a fairly likeable kid playing ball at SW Atlanta Christian School. But somewhere between there and the end of his run with the Orlando Magic, he turned into the prototypical "Spoiled-Brat" athlete.

And no, don't feel sorry for the LA Lakers, whose "Max" offer has been spurned. They knew going in that Howard could be a 1-year rental and that turned out to be true.

Sure, he may be a "Savior" for the decent, but not great Rockets, and we have no doubt he'll lead them to the playoffs, but when his "Contract" is up or if they don't win a title, which Dwight will they get? The "fun-loving", kid-friendly guy who wants to be part of a good team or the "me-first", find me a coach who runs an offense I like-guy whom he seems to have become....
