The shootout went 20 frames...

No, that's not a misprint...

20 frames- per team, not total...

Cap One Cup: Liverpool Advances After 15 Rounds of PK

((HT: Beanyman Sports))

The match between Liverpool and Middlesbrough took almost two and a half hours to complete- with the teams going into the 15th round of penalty kicks before it was decided in the bottom half off a Boro miss...

Here's the highlights

And manager Brendan Rodgers discussing a long night

Albert Adomah, for the record, is the Boro player who punched his shot wide in the bottom of the 15th after a spirited comeback at Anfield by a squad that didn't seem all that bent out of shape having to play a 4th Round game on the road.

Threr were, probably, a lot of records set in the match. But Liverpool advances into the Round of 16 with the other 6 squads who join the 10 advancing today tomorrow.

Is This Even A Legal Shootout Goal...???

((HT: Hockey Vines))

No matter how awesome looking it is...

Andreas Athanasiou, who currently plays for the Barrie Colts in the OHL, did this...

But since the puck left the ice surface, does this sickness count...???

Just asking...

A 13-Round Shootout... Really...

((HT: NHL/SunSports))

The end of the Tampa Bay-Islanders game may have set back the idea of the shootout hundreds of years...

It went 13 rounds before it was settled...
Here's the ending...

Maybe, the international rules in the shootout- namely, having shooters come back in unlimited numbers (remember TJ Oshie over in Sochi...?) is the solution... or, is it 3-on-3...???

You tell us...

Bradley Attorneys Say He Was "Targeted"

((HT: MyFoxBoston))

A former associate of Aaron Hernandez is now being held on $1 million cash bond after the shoot out at the Vevo nightclub in Hartford over the weekend..

Alexander Bradley, allegedly, got into a fight with another person over money. Bradley was shot three times in the thigh n the exchange of gunfire that (as eyewitnesses say) shot up the front of the club...

Bradley's attorneys, including Robert Pickering, said in court that he was "targeted" by a stranger. He was arraigned on charges that varied from criminal use of a firearm to stealing a firearm.

Investigators don't know who shot Bradley and can't confirm if this incident was related to the Hernandez case and investigation...

Here's an interview the folks at Fox Boston had with HPD
Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

Bradley and Hernandez are linked to the Furtado-Abreu shooting in Boston back in July 2012

Hernandez Associate In Another Gunfight

((HT: MyFoxBoston))

You may remember the name Alexander Bradley in our coverage of the Aaron Hernandez investigation(s)...

He was the gentleman who claimed that Hernandez had him sit as a passenger in a car Hernandez was driving when Bradley claimed the former Patriots tight end shot him- eventually causing him to lose the sight in his right eye...

Bradley is suing Hernandez because of the incident last February...

Bradley was brought into the Hartford Police Department Monday to be booked after an overnight shooting outside the Vevo bar in Hartford. HPD is, basically, saying that Bradley and the others who were involved in the fight shot up the front of the bar. Police believe that the fight started inside, went outside, and Bradley was shot multiple times.

Investigators are saying he then went to his car, got a firearm, and returned fire...

Monday evening, the thoughts now are that Bradley and the person who shot him were arguing over money...

The press conference also revealed that the gun Bradley used was one of 111 guns that had been stolen out of a collection...

Here's the early version out of Hartford...
Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

It is expected HPD is going to arraign Bradley on reckless endangerment and other gun-related charges including stealing a firearm and unlawful use and possession of a firearm...

OSG Prem: ManU Problems Continue In Cap One Semi

By losing to Sunderland in penalty kicks...

How is that going to sit with the Red Devil faithful...???

Here's the evidence from the shootout...
((HT: beInSports))

In a dreadful start to the season, the Black Cats have now made it to a cup final to play Manchester City...

"My feelings are for them (the Sunderland fans)," Poyet told Sky Sports after the game.

"It's been a difficult season, nothing to enjoy. They deserve that, so let's see if we can go one better and win the final as well.

"This match was immense. What we need(ed) to do to win this game! This is the good thing with cups, you never know what is going to happen."

Here's David Moyes- still confident he has a job, but refusing to answer questions about obtaining Juan Mata in a very expensive transfer...

In a note purely based on capitalism, Manchester United have dropped to fourth place for the first time in a list of the world's highest earning clubs.

United's total revenue has increased from £323.7m to £346.5m in the last season, but Bayern Munich passed them with a revenue increase by 17 percent to £352.5m

And United's books are based on trophy success... which they're not having this year at all...

Was The Hyper-Long Shootout Good Or Bad For MLS...???

((HT: MLS on ESPN))

The shoot out went 10 frames and ended up with Sporting KC's Aurelien Collin kicking in that position for the first time in his competitive life...

He made the kick and SKC won the MLS Cup at home against Real Salt Lake...

Here's the highlights...

But the larger question is: In 20-degree weather, regardless of the environment (which the HQ will admit was rather electric-even more than normal), was this marathon good or bad for the Major League Soccer folks to get their brand across- competing against college football conference title games and all the other stuff around...

Should the turnaround from conference finals to final too long and should it be held in environments that are a lot more temperate than the one it was in...

Yes, under current guidelines, SKC deserved the title host gig...

But was it all worth it...???

Just putting it out there...

Another Ridiculous Shootout Goal

((HT: Sportsnet.ca))

This time it's from Austrian hockey...

Mike Ratchuk completely schools HC Orli Znojmo goalie Filip Landsman...

Ratchuk's Olimpija Ljubljana team got the 3-2 shootout win and Ratchuk admitted on his Twitter feed that the move was an homage to New York Islanders winger Kyle Okposo...

Still, putting on the brakes for the pullback was pretty sweet...

Colton Yellow Horn Goes Next Level In The Shootout...

((HT: Ontario Reign/ECHL))

Just watch... that's all we're going to say...

Jaromir Jagr started the whole spin-o-rama craze...
Colton Yellow Horn has added level of difficulty...

Okay, 68...
It's up to you now...

And, by the way, the HQ just likes saying "Colton Yellow Horn..."

Devin Setoguchi with worst shootout move EVER

There is nothing really to say here.

Minnesota Wild forward Devin Setoguchi may have successfully become winner the worst shootout move ever.

Granted, he slipped.

And it was made worse when Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price just casually skated out and poked away the puck.

Words cannot describe...so check out the video:
