And you can bet that Scolari is SO done after this loss... Brazilian fans booed their home squad after the pitch...

The Other Semi Is Set In Brazil

And it was one side that showed its prowess and another who escaped from Cinderella...
In the first game of the day Argentina got an early strike and rode it to a 1-0 win over a spirited Belgium side. And, with everyone looking at Lionel Messi as the man to keep in check, it was Higuain and the other nine to pick up the slack
The nightcap was Costa Rica and the Netherlands. Everyone was looking for the Oranje to steamroll the upstart of the final 8, but the Ticos made them earn it- going scoreless through 90 and extra time- forcing the Dutch to penalty kicks. Netherlands head coach Louis Van Gaal made an interesting switch leading to the kicks, swapping out goaltenders- bringing in Newcastle's Tim Krul for the final act.
The gamble worked
News on Neymar from the Brazilian physicians have him back being active in 40-45 days- certainly good news for the sport as FIFA will examine the knee to the back that caused the injury.

Spain Eliminated In Brazil, Netherlands Advance

Group B is all figured out, but not the way everyone thought...
First, the Socceroos gave the Netherlands all they could handle including a Tim Cahill volley that could be the goal of the tournament. But, the Dutch came through in their dress blues for the wild 3-2 win to advance.
van Persie is out for the next match, but it won't matter in the grand scheme.
Interesting set-up for the second match of the day. Chilean fans stormed the stadium saying that they were having to pay $1,100 dollars for a ticket that didn't have an entry point to the stadium.

Rio 2014: And Diego Costa Deserves A Straight Red

Spain's Diego Costa is being booed every time he touches the ball- since he's spent most of his life as a South American person now playing for the World Champs.
But this move won't endear him to a lot of folks for the near future...
Yes, it was sold. But it's still a head butt during play
FIFA, soccer's "governing bardy," may opt for some kind of retroactive punishment here.
It should be interesting to see what goes down after this game

Someone Not Dude Perfect Does it Overseas

Someone called "How Ridiculous" decided to try and get a bucket from the top of the EuroMast Tower in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
It's a 321-foot shot from HR's Kyle that took only 62 attempts to make.
They also claim the previous Guinness World Record of 223 feet.
Here's their successful attempt
Dude Perfect claim that this shot from Reliant Stadium is the record...

Cuban Baseball Crisis, Netherlands Upsets Cuba In World Baseball Classic
We have a bona fide shocking upset in the World Baseball Classic.
The mighty Cubans faced the Netherlands in the quarterfinal round and thanks to Kalian Sams sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth upset Cuba 7-6 to advance to the semifinals.

Cuba had taken a 6-4 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Andrelton Simmons hit a two-run homer off Cuba reliever Norberto Gonzalez to set the stage for Sams' heroics. Here's Simmons' eighth inning home run, FOSG Rich Waltz on the call for MLB Network.
