OSG High: Did Utah HSFB Coach Break The Law...???

((HT: ABC4 Salt Lake City))

The larger question, raised by the ethics laws in the state of Utah, is did a coach who is out of a job really break the law by doing what he did...???

Former Lone Peak ((UT)) High head football coach Tony McGeary is charged, in a 42-page indictment, for overcharging players to attend a football camp at a regional Utah university. Since the overall profit is listed as more than $1,000, it's a second-degree felony in the state.

Education officials are fairly confident that McGeary knew the rules when he signed on, but McGeary feels he did nothing wrong.

Here's Brian Carlson's look...

McGeary may not be the only coach who overcharged and it will be interesting to see if anyone else falls because of the McGeary case. The end game of prosecutors, of course, comes from intent...
