Arguably when a company wants to do a "Publicity Stunt", they do it with the intent of driving people to their business.
In this case, we're pretty sure that isn't going to happen.
A Denver based internet pawn shop company thought they were being funny Tuesday by placing some 900 lbs of Butterfinger candy bars in Boston's Copley Square.
The reason: to allegedly poke fun at New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker who dropped what debatably was a key late game pass, though he would have had to contort his body to do it.
The pawn company's owner released a statement saying "Following the Super Bowl game we at ----- thought Boston fans deserved a little something in return for their heartbreaking loss in the form of a great candy! Sometimes there is a light side to sports and we thought Boston fans might at least get a laugh out of it."
Uh...they didn't find it so funny. ((**note**--we didn't name the company because we didn't find it funny either))
