As a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan who got the opportunity to cover his favorite team for 9-years, we love Chipper Jones. He's a sure-fire Hall of Fame player...and should be. He is a mentor and a leader for the Braves, a position he's grown into over the years.
In fact, we first met and interviewed Jones as a pup who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves seemingly eons ago. He was a typicial North Florida raised kid who lived to play baseball, golf, fish and hunt. And he was a horrible interview.
He's gotten a lot better over the years and has evolved into a folksy, honest twangy kind of guy who will tell you exactly what is on his mind.
And we were excited that he got the chance to play in the 2012 All-Star Game in his final year as a Major League Baseball player.
As such, he got a chance to address his younger All-Star teammates before Tuesday's game. And the speech, well, was a bit on the mild side. (We're understating)....
In fact, quite a few bloggers are calling it "The Worst Pre-Game Speech Ever". Don't know about that...judge for yourself.
