Oscar Pistorius Trial: Day One

Surprising no one, Oscar Pistorius pleaded "not guilty" in the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day 2013. Today was the first day of the trial where, if found guilty, Pistorius could face the rest of his life behind bars in prison.

He also pleaded not guilty to the three gun charges not associated with the crime.

Pistorius' lawyer, Kenny Oldwage, described Steenkamp's death as a "tragic accident." Oldwage admitted his client did kill Steenkamp, but only after mistaking her as an intruder.

The first prosecution witness was a neighbor who claims to have heard four shots and Steenkamp's screaming inside the house. The neighbor's husband will testify later to hearing more than four shots...
