It was the second perfect game this year behind the White Sox Phillip Humber as Cain struck out a career-high 14 along the way- 7 looking and 7 swinging.
It's always said that games like Cain's had to have moments of help. Putting the Jordan Schafer fair-or-foul ball aside in the 4th, it was the Gregor Blanco diving catch in the 7th that preserved the perfect game.
The ninth inning had two fly outs to Melky Cabrera and a groundout to Joaquin Arias (third-to-first), and the team had it's 6th no-hitter as well joining Jonathan Sanchez, John Montefusco, Ed Halicki, Gaylord Perry, and Juan Marichal (who also no-hit the Astros for his line in the record books).
Cain threw 125 pitches for the 5th no-hitter of the season- joining Johan Santana and Jered Weaver in the month of June alone.
Here's the end while it lasts...
