FSU WR Arrested On Sexual Assault Charge

((HT: WCTV))

According to the Leon County (FL) Sheriff's Office, Florida State wide receiver Gregory Dent was arrested Sunday evening for sexual assault- a second degree felony. Dent played in all 14 games last season with 355 yards and two touchdowns.

Dent is currently being held in the Leon County Jail with a $15,000 bond set by judge Robert Wheeler. He was arrested after a friend of his told police that he forcefully tried to have sexual intercourse with her earlier that morning, despite her repeatedly telling him 'no.'

Here's the bare-bones from late last night...

Here's the probable cause information released by the sheriff's office...

But here are the details:

Dent and three friends returned to his apartment early Sunday following a night at a local club. The alleged victim, who said she had been friends with Dent since her freshman year of college, spent the night in Dent’s room, which she said she had done before without any problems.

After falling asleep, the girl told police that she woke up to find Dent trying to kiss her on the lips. After telling him no, she told police, she eventually bit Dent on the lip to get him to stop.

The alleged victim said Dent then removed his clothes and returned to the bed and forcefully removed her shorts and undergarments. The girl said she punched Dent and grabbed his hair, but said he still continued to attempt to have intercourse. After the fight carried over to the floor, the girl told police, she grabbed her clothes and ran from the apartment, where she got dressed outside and reported the incident to police.
