((HT: MLB))
Charlie Blackmon didn't hit for the cycle against Arizona, but he did do something pretty special...
For someone who struggled in Spring Training, he went 6-for-6 yesterday and got his name in the history books in a few different ways:
First player to go 6-for-6 with a homer and three doubles.
First player since the Pirates' Dick Groat in 1960 to have three doubles among six hits in a game.
First player in Rockies' history to have five or more hits, drive in three or more runs and score four or more runs.
First leadoff hitter with six hits in a game since Ian Kinsler for the Rangers in 2009, and
19th leadoff hitter in history with as many hits in a contest.
Manager Walt Weiss has a very crowded outfield, but that's not a bad thing- especially when you need to take full advantage of your home situation knowing your power will be somewhat suspect on the road.
Oh, and Blackmon...???
He's now 9-for-16 for the young year- fantasy owners pounce...
