And it's all still convoluted and confusing...
Paterno, who is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer, sat down for two days of interviews with the Washington Post's Sally Jenkins. In all honesty, it's must-read material if only to both update us all on the man's condition since his life's work was taken away by his own doing and to reinforce that Penn State was such an insular community (and, by all accounts, still is) that nothing has changed.
Paterno claims that he thought he was doing the right thing and sent it through the proper channels at the school...
From Jenkins:
"I didn't know exactly how to handle it and I was afraid to do something that might jeopardize what the university procedure was. So I backed away and turned it over to some other people, people I thought would have a little more expertise than I did. It didn't work out that way."
If it tells you anything, the interview was monitored by his attorney and a "communications adviser."
The HQ believes the translation of the term would work, in some circles, to "spin doctor." But that's just us...
Paterno also claimed he knew nothing of the 1998 allegations on Jerry Sandusky with alleged incidents involving the Second Mile charity...
Uh huh...
Here's Sara Walsh with Jeremy Schaap to discuss...
