Sarah Burke Critical After Utah Crash

((HT: KSL-TV Salt Lake City))

Canadian freestyle skiier Sarah Burke was seriously injured on the Park Mountain Resort course earlier today. She is currently in a medically induced coma as a Salt Lake City hospital monitors a head injury.

In a statement, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association quoted a doctor at the University of Utah hospital saying Burke "sustained serious injuries and remains intubated and sedated in critical condition."

Here's a standard reaction piece that actually gets sound from the last skiier to wreck on the Park City course, Kevin Pearce.

Burke is thought of, internationally, as a pioneer for women's halfpipe and its inclusion in the 2014 Sochi games.
