Unnamed Jets take shots at Sanchez

Mark Sanchez
((ht: nydailynews.com))

Nobody says "Team Chaos" like the dysfunctional New York Jets.

On the same day the team relieved offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer of his duties and replaced him with former Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano, comes an gossipy story from the New York Daily News.

In the story at least one "Unnamed" player and several "Unnamed" sources say that Jets QB Mark Sanchez has become lazy and content.

At least one goes on to speculate that the team should try and get Peyton Manning from the Colts to replace Sanchez. Others just say the team needs a good veteran QB to push Sanchez to be better.

And yes...it seems Sanchez has fully embraced the lifestyle of a "Celebrity".

Despite our extreme distaste for "Unnamed" players and sources for stuff like this, there is probably a measure of truth here.

However, Sanchez is far from the only person to blame on the Jets. It should start with Head Blowhard/Coach Rex Ryan and work down. One thing the Jets did prove this season is money doesn't buy you titles. There is something to be said for "Team Chemistry" which it appears they don't have.

Yes, Sanchez was pretty awful for the most part this season and that cost Schottenheimer his job. But if you add in Santonio "The Sulker" Holmes and other "Attitude" guys then you realize there are multiple problems here. But the QB always gets the blame and in this case it isn't totally wrong.

We think the bigger problem is Ryan, who while immensely popular as a "Players" coach, he seems to have lost his team. Add that with Ryan's mouth having a tendency to write checks his team isn't cashing and you have all the ingredients you need for a pending implosion.

It's only a matter of when.
