It doesn't matter how you slice it, whether you are a snark or not, this is just damn impressive.
64-year old Diana Nyad became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage...because she could.
Yes, she's 64.
And yes, this was the 5th time she's tried to make the 103 mile, 53-hour swim. But the point is: She did it.
A 22-year old did the swim, inside a shark cage in 1997, and sorry 22-year olds, that just isn't nearly as impressive.
She finished just before 2 p.m on Monday in front of a huge Key West crowd.
