Jackson-Wingfield had very little as a football program when Jeff Gibson took over a few years ago- little backing, little depth, little commitment, and a lot of kids in trouble.
Gibson met Cindy Ayers-Elliott who, instead of giving his players backing, gave them a chance to figure it out themselves...
She brokered a deal for some farm land and let the team work the field in the summer and keep the profits of whatever they sold from what they tended.
The losing streak is over and things are changing step-by-step for inner-city kids who are exposed to a lot of rough stuff
