OSG Prem: Liverpool Wins At The Death, Newcastle In Freefall

Two games called off today because of heavy wind and rain...

And it was really bad at the Etihad where the game between Sunderland and Man City was postponed because of winds that were in the neighborhood of 100mph at times- even knocking over big periodical stands (pictured right, thanks Reuters).
The game between Everton and Crystal Palace was also postponed because of conditions.

No word on when those games will be made up. The reason for the mid-week match-ups is the FA Cup games that are set for the weekend to whittle that field down even further as the teams get another round closer to playing for a title at Wembley.

The Man City game was postponed only 75 minutes before kick and the Citizens are still alive in all four cup competitions at present. This postponement could make things dicey in the schedule as we get to the end of the year...

So... around the league...

Stoke and Swansea drew at 1
Arsenal and Manchester United did nothing and each walked away with a point in a goalless draw
And what has gotten into Spurs Emmanuel Adebayor...???

Two more goals for Tim Sherwood and Tottenham dismantled Newcastle, 4-0, and the HQ wonders about the patience level involving Alan Pardew- even if he is mid-table. Since the sale of Cabaye, the offense has gone out the window...

Even if it's not his fault...

But the match of the day is Liverpool-Fulham, and yes, the HQ knows what you're thinking...
No, it's not a misprint...

Liverpool's Kolo Toure almost made it a long day for the Reds with a whiff that turned into an own goal in the match against Fulham...

But after being down 1-0 and 2-1, a late penalty kick by Gerrard gave Liverpool a huge three points off the 3-2 win...

From Chelsea to Spurs, it's only a 7-point range and it's getting good...
