DEVELOPING: Joe Paterno has treatable lung cancer

According to a report by the Associated Press, now former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno is suffering from a treatable form of lung cancer.

Paterno, according to PennLive.com visited a campus infirmary and a local hospital Wednesday night but was not admitted.

Paterno as you'll recall, was relieved from his duties as the head coach at Penn State last week in the wake of the scandal involving his former top assistant Jerry Sandusky.

According to Paterno's son Scott, "His doctors are optimistic he'll make a full recovery." Scott Paterno added the diagnosis was made during a follow up visit to the hospital last weekend for a bronchial illness.
