Cyclone Shocker, Iowa State Upsets Oklahoma State

It's the biggest win in Iowa State history. The Cyclones had never defeated a team ranked in the top 5 until Friday night.

Backup running back Jeff Woody ran into the end zone from four yards out in the second overtime to seal the Cyclone win 37-31.

Here are the highlights. (Thanks Iowa State Video Services)

Not only was this a monumental win for Iowa State it was also the Cyclones sixth win. A heck of a way to be bowl eligible. Here's Iowa State head coach Paul Rhodes' post game locker room address to the team.

Friday was a surreal day in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The day began with the tragic deaths of Cowgirl head basketball coach Kirk Budke and assistant coach Miranda Serna in a plane crash in Perry County, Arkansas. The Oklahoma State football played their game against Iowa State but couldn't overcome a determined Cyclone team.

"For me to say it wasn't a strange day would be .... leading everyone astray," Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was quoted in the Tulsa World. "This team has handled a lot of different situations, but we just didn't play well."
