So goes that idea: Okie State beaten by Iowa State

In a lot of ways, the beauty of college football is just when you think things are going in one direction, they change direction.

Most everyone, us included thought it was a foregone conclusion that Oklahoma State would be undefeated heading into Bedlam against Oklahoma.

Not now.

That's because Iowa State took advantage of 5 Cowboy turnovers and a few lucky breaks to beat Oklahoma State 37-31 in 2 overtimes.

SI.com gives us Highlights: (Thanks sportsillustrated):

The loss moves the Cowboys to 10-1 overall and will knock them off their #2 ranking and basically eliminate them from a potential BCS Championship game.

For Iowa State it was their first win over a Top 5 team....ever. And the win makes them Bowl Eligible.

Here is Cyclone coach Paul Rhodes speaking to his players after the game: (Thanks Cyclones.com):

What this does is essentially set-up a LSU/Alabama rematch in the BCS title game....

Unless, college football does what it often does, and provide us with another couple of upsets before seasons end. And while Alabama is not likely to lose this week to Georgia Southern, LSU still has to play Ole Miss and Arkansas before their season ends.

To quote the great Yogi Berra--"It ain't over, til it's over".
