Well, if this is true, props to New Mexico for finding a coach with some name recognition.
According to ESPN College Football reporter Joe Schad, New Mexico is going to hire current ESPN commentator and former Notre Dame coach Bob Davie to be their new head coach. Just so you know, Davie hasn't coached a game since being fired by the Irish back in 2001.
New Mexico has arguably been the worst team in College Football over the past three seasons under former head coach Mike Locksley. That of course means Davie has one heck of a rebuilding project. If he could pull this off, he'd be considered the greatest coach in NCAA history.
