NPSL Week 3 Review/Preview: Northeast Region

Keystone Conference

It's two halves right now...

Lehigh Valley and Junior Lone Star are on top with nine points, but Sonic have a game in hand. Lehigh Valley knocked off Pocono Snow 1-0 and Lone Star beat GBFC Thunder 3-0. Buxmont Torch won their first match of the year and are tied with Hershey (who got their first win of the year against Electric City) and Clarkstown at three points.

Biggest news is the broken arm of Pocono Snow goalkeeper Dave Sullivan in the 3-0 in the game against Lone Star

Sullivan actually finished the first half...

This week, Pocono hosts Buxmont Torch and goes to GBFC. Junior Lone Star hosts Lehigh Valley Sonic- who returns home Saturday to play Clarkstown SC. Hershey hosts Electric City Shock Saturday.

Mid Atlantic Conference

Virginia Beach City FC is undefeated through three games. Last week, they put four on Chesterfield United. Goalkeeper Danny Free was a good sport for Chesterfield United and was asked about advice he would give young keepers after the loss...

Sunday, VBCFC hosts second place DC United Under-23's two days after DCU's Friday game with third-place Legacy 76. RVA FC has a big week that can give them some separation from ASA Charge at the bottom of the ladder. They play at Arundel before the game this weekend with Chesterfield.

North Atlantic Conference

Red Bulls Under-23's are putting up some impressive numbers- five games, five wins, and a goal difference of plus-28. Last time out, they put 8 on Seacoast United Mariners. They should pad their numbers this week even more with home games against New York Athletic Club and Rhode Island Reds who are a combined 1-0-3.

Brooklyn Italians are undefeated through three games. They should pad their numbers on top as well with their two road games against the Seacoast United teams.

Greater Lowell United FC are third coming off their first win of the season against Rhode Island, 2-0
((HT: GLUFC))

They get a rematch with Rhode Island this week...

New York Athletic Club beat Seacoast United Phantoms in their 2014 debut and have three games this week as well- the Red Bulls match and two games in Seacoast. Right now, the bottom five teams are all separated by just three points in a week full of six-point opportunities...
