Evander Kane of the Winnipeg Jets (former Atlanta Thrashers) started his night in Pittsburgh with a 2nd period fight, followed it with an assist and ended it with a goal. It wasn't enough as the Penguins got the win in an overtime shootout.
It was named after hockey legend Gordie Howe who did the same, quite often, back in hockey's rough and tumble past.
