The Texas high school association, the UIL, is now part of a pilot program that will allow parents to purchase extra insurance for their kids, to the tune of about $5 extra, for kids who play football and soccer...

House OKs UIL concussion insurance pilot program
The bill passed Tuesday and has to clear one more hurdle before heading to the Senate.
Private companies would underwrite the policies administered by the UIL and the Texas Education Agency. Both groups would then figure out decide which districts participate in the program.
