Ha-Ha: Alabama Suspends Top DB Clinton-Dix Indefinitely

((ht: al.com))

Yeah, sure, his name sounds like a laughing matter, but getting indefinitely suspended certainly isn't that funny.

Top ranked Alabama coach Nick Saban announced after practice on Wednesday that the guy considered the teams best defensive back, Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix will be suspended for a "Violation of Team rules".

Note that Saban didn't say how long, but just indefinitely.

Nor did he mention what Clinton-Dix did to get the boot

The Tide face perhaps the worst FBS team in the country this Saturday, Georgia State, so the general consensus is the move won't hurt much, at least in the short term.

However, the loss of Clinton-Dix, considered a possible 1st Round NFL pick by most scouts, for a long period of time, may hurt the Tide as they pursue yet another NCAA Title.

The schedule sets up well for Bama as the only serious challenge on the schedule left is a November 9th game vs. LSU, a game that will be played in Tuscaloosa.

Short of losing a game they shouldn't, Alabama may face a powerhouse offense in Georgia, a game where someone of Clinton-Dix's talent will be needed.

We suspect this suspension will be over in a week or two. But we could be wrong....
