NPSL Midwest Region Week 5 Review/Preview

Central Conference

The Madison 56ers are on top and it took a huge effort against Eau Claire Aris to pull it off- like a PK in stoppage time...

Quad City came in with a 7-0 win of their own over Aris and they're one point back with 10.

Minnesota United Reserves, Twin Stars, and FC Bordo are in the second group (with 6, 5, and 4 points respectively). United lost to Twin Stars to close the gap among the three and Twin Stars lost in turn to Quad Cities. Bordo also lost to Madison and Aris is still looking for their first win of the year.

This week, Madison hosts Bordo and goes to Quad Cities. United hosts Twin Stars and Bordo goes to Eau Claire as well.

Great Lakes East Conference

It's AFC Cleveland and everyone else...

A tie at Lansing and a win at Michigan Stars give them 12 points in 7 games. Tyler Pasher scored for Lansing United to give them a 2-1 lead, but AFC scored late for the 2-2 draw- here's the highlights

This week, AFC Cleveland takes on FC Buffalo and travels to Detroit City FC in a huge game against Le Rouge at Cass Tech. FCB also goes to Cincinnati in a crossover.

Erie Admirals tied Detroit City at twos to get a huge point. Josh Rogers of DCFC scored on a penalty kick to give them a 2-1 lead, but they couldn't keep it in front of a sell-out crowd at home.

Fort Pitt has some ground to make up and can do it with games against Erie and Michigan Stars

Great Lakes West Conference

Another highly competitive conference at the top with Detroit City, Lansing, and Indiana Fire all with 14 points.

Lansing has the weekend off and Indiana, after a loss at Michigan, go to Erie.

Head coach Eric Rudland's dropped points on the road at Cincinnati in a 4-3 loss to the Saints to give them their second win of the season...

Cincinnati hosts FCB and Michigan as the Stars and Saints have 6 points each.
