ATLANTA - As the San Francisco team bus arrived in Atlanta around 11:00pm Friday night several media outlets were waiting on 49ers WR Michael Crabtree.

Why?

San Francisco police are investigating Crabtree in connection with a sexual assault allegation that happened at a local hotel last Sunday.

Since the allegation was made, police have interviewed Crabtree twice, and he has not been detained or arrested - but the investigation is still ongoing.

San Francisco GM Trent Baalke issued the following statement regarding Crabtree late Friday night.

"We are aware of the allegation against Michael and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities. The 49ers take such matters very seriously," said Baalke. "We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing. Additional requests for comment should be directed to Michael's attorney."

The 49ers are in Hot'lanta to play the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC divisional playoffs on Sunday. Crabtree is expected to play, and this allegation is not expected to affect anything this weekend.

Now that Crabtree has found a hot connection to new QB Colin Kaepernick, maybe people are coming out of the woodwork to "be with him." It wouldn't be the first time...ask Ben Roethlisberger...
