You could arguably say that this weekends NASCAR race could have been titled "Jobbers Delight".
Delayed a full day due to a non-stop steady rain on Saturday night, NASCAR hoped to run their 4th of July weekend feature event Sunday morning.
And they did.
But Sunday's version featured two major wrecks that took out most of the big names in the field leaving Aric Amirola with a clean shot at payday in a race that lasted only 112 laps.
The win was Amirola's 1st and left the few in the stands and watching at home watching, scratching their heads and saying "What just happened?"
It should also be noted Amirola drives the legendary #43 car, the same used by racing superstar Richard Petty. The win is the first time the #43 car has seen victory lane since 1999. And yes, Petty co-owns the team.
By the way, the reason the race finished 48 laps early--the same as what caused the overnight delay.
