The old record for an extra-inning game in the playoffs was 5:51- the Nationals and Giants blew right past that one... they went six hours, 23 minutes in length. For innings played, it matched the 18-inning Game 4 of the 2005 NL Division Series, when Houston beat Atlanta, 7-6.
If it hadn't been for Tanner Roark grooving a ball to Brandon Belt, they might still be at it.
The Giants are one win away from knocking off a pre-playoff favorite for the fall classic. The Reds were a win away once before in 2012, but gave up three straight to the Giants. And, at the same time, the Giants post-season win streak is now at a record ten games...
