Statement Game: Florida State Takes Care of Miami

The question on the table was this: Would FSU do what most ACC teams do and choke in a big game?

The answer is a resounding "NO".

3 Touchdowns by Running Back Devonta Freeman and a pretty stout defense led the Seminoles to a 41-14 win over the previously unbeaten and #7 ranked Miami Hurricanes.

Freeman ran for 2 scores and 78 yards along with catching 6 passes for 98 yards and another score, overshadowing his more famous QB Jameis Winston.

Winston had a pretty good game, throwing for 325 yards, but was intercepted twice.

The Florida State defense held Miami to 83 rushing yards and picked off QB Stephen Morris a couple of times. The 'Canes could muster on 275 yards of total offense on the night.

The #3 ranked (BCS, #1 Ranked OSG Sports) Seminoles move to 8-0 on the year and travel to a weak Wake Forest team next week. Barring a crazy stumble, they look likely to run the table and head to the ACC Championship undefeated where they may see Miami again.

Win that one and we are in for an interesting debate as to whom should be in the championship game.
