Starting the season 0-5 is no fun and the Maine Black Bears needed a win Tuesday night against Wagner.
Enter Zarko Valjarevic whose catch and shoot buzzer beater in overtime gave the Black Bears their first win of the season 82-81.
“Our guys trusting me, putting me in that spot, I just have to make it this time and it went in, so it’s good — first win,” Valjarevic was quoted in the Banger Daily News.
Valjarevic ended the game with 17 points.
“I like the pressure. I like the challenge,” Valjarevic said on taking the last shot.
