The major league baseball player known more for missing a start due to getting lost driving to the ballpark than anything he ever did was found dead in his Dominican Republic home.
Pascual Perez pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves among other teams in his 11-year Major League Baseball career and won 67 games.
But to many, he was known mostly as the Braves pitcher who got lost on the I-285 Perimeter trying to get to Fulton County STadium for a start. He was one of the more colorful and sometimes creative pitchers during the 80's and did have a few moments of pitching success.
Dominican Police say Perez was hit in the head during a robbery attempt at his home.
