Tis the season of giving...or at least of doing good deeds for some people.
We want to share the story of Florida State offensive lineman Mike Scheerhorn and his attempt to raise money for a child with cancer and a parent to attend the BCS Championship on January 6th.
Scheerhorn decided to take on the challenge because his brother suffered from a form of brain cancer. And he wanted to give something back to the hospital that helped his family.
That's why he undertook the challenge with the help of Children's Cancer Center and the two tickets Scheerhorn is given for the game. He started a fund raiser on the Crowdrise.com website.
If you'd like to contribute, here is a link to the site RIGHT HERE
And in case you are wondering, the cost is estimated at $5000 for a kid and a parent to get to Pasedena and tickets for the game. So far, they've raised nearly $10,000. The extra money, well all of that is going to the Cancer Center itself.
You know, whether the Seminoles win or lose, applause for young Mr. Scheerhorn for doing something good for someone and something that needs it. It may be a cliche', but he already wins.
