Frank McCourt |
There is hope that the Frank McCourt vs. Major League Baseball battle may soon be over.
The Los Angeles Times reports the 2 sides are prepared to agree on McCourt selling the team, Dodger Stadium and the surrounding parking lots for a possible $1 billion.

We won't say much about this, much like both sides, other than to say this needs to happen. This story has run its course and McCourt is just plain being indignant at this point. He has very few options and may, we hope, finally understand that.
In the meantime the team, its reputation and everything around it languishes as McCourt doesn't have the resources to do anything to improve them. From his declaration of bankruptcy to the $130 million payment to his ex-wife, his whole hope in keeping the team hinged on the $1 billion TV rights deal with FOX Sports. The league, knowing this, has been able to keep that from happening.
So if...and when this finally happens, it will be a big sigh of relief to everyone involved.
