Quarterback Robert Grifin, III of Baylor is your winner of the 2011 Heisman Trophy. And he did it without the hype machine and hoopla that surrounded the other 5 finalists.
Of course the Superman socks he was wearing (picture) certainly helped endear himself to everyone.
Griffin lead the Bears to one of their most successful seasons ever as they went 9-3. He completed 72% of his passes for 36 touchdowns on the season, many of them were of the dizzying variety. And yeah, he ran for 6 more TD's.
Griffin, who has completed his degree work at Baylor and is looking to complete a law degree is a sure-fire 1st round pick in the NFL draft this spring. With his background as a 400 meter sprinter, his cannon-like arm, his intelligence and likeabilty make us think that he may very well be a future star in the pros.
