College Baseball game delayed...by Fire on Field

No...really.

Wednesday's Louisiana Tech/Northwestern State baseball game got cancelled after a fire.

On the Northwestern baseball field.

Well, next to it anyway. On the rightfield wall.

It appears the chaos ensued after an electrical fire behind the rightfield wall at Northwestern's Brown-Stroud field.

The transformer that caught on fire around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, apparently exploded just feet away from NW State baseball players who were taking batting practice in cages next to said transformer.

And according to the Northwestern State athletic site, the game, which was scheduled to start at 6:30pm was postponed because Natchitoches Fire Department apparently couldn't put it out. They had to wait for it to burn itself out.

And yeah, this is a heck of a picture.
Here's matching video, thanks to our friends at KSLA-TV in Shreveport
