And the world is a greater place now because of it. (sarcasm)
Boxer Floyd Mayweather was released from the Clark County (Las Vegas) Detention Center early Friday morning. He's been taking up residence there since June 1st. And he became a jailbird after pleading guilty to domestic battery charges.
But he got a plea deal. That deal reduced the charges and limited the amount of time he had to spend in jail. He spent a total of 60-days of the 90 he was sentenced to in prison.
And as an added bonus, Mayweather has to reapply for a boxing license so he can again bring in the millions that somehow, big name boxers such as he bring in.
Of course the immediate question by the inquisitive scribes documenting his release were not about his time in jail and not about whether or not he was sorry for what he did. Nor were they about whether or not he learned anything in jail.
Rather they were all about "Where's the next fight?"
But he answered none of those questions. He just walked out, got into a car and left the premises.
