Cornelius Washington

However, the 2 game vacation is probably not for the reason he'd like it to be.

University of Georgia outside linebacker Cornelius Washington earned the time off early Sunday morning when he was pulled over and charged with DUI. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Washington was arrested in Commerce, GA for speeding, he was asked if had been drinking and said yes. Which of course meant he was going to get a breath test.

He blew a .12, the legal limit is .08.

Washington was summarily arrested for DUI and speeding. He later posted the $3500 bond to get out of the pokey.

Needless to say, his boss, UGA coach Mark Richt was less than pleased. Washington, per UGA policy was suspended for at least the next two games.

Washington was a starter for the improving Georgia defense. He had 2 sacks and 4 tackles in Saturday's win against Mississippi State. And yes, he was looked upon to be a leader on the team. The question now is will he get back out on the field, because despite Coach Richt saying "He's sick. He feels awful. He knows he let the team down and the coaches down", this is just plain stupid. Yes, Washington is 22, so he wasn't drinking underage, but there is no excuse for a "Leader" on the team, acting so selfishly. He needs to sit the rest of the season.

But he won't.
